Many thanks to the people at One North Television and the National Geography channel for this must watch video. In just 7 minutes, this video overviews the four main types of alternative fuel vehicles (ethanol, vegetable oil diesel, hybrids and electrics). The testers also put them through their paces to discover which is the best gas mileage car and the best performance car of the lot. Although produced in Britian, with pounds and petrol replacing dollars and gas, this is no doubt one of the best and balanced brief videos on the topic in the world. See this and share it (we have the button right below) with everyone you know. We all need to know just what our choices are.

it isnt..but its a …
it isnt..but its a step towards that idea. G-Wiz has its problems but so did the first ICE cars with regard to safety/range/power etc. If they compared the safety of the G-Wiz to the saftey of some of the first commercially viable ICE cars im sure the G-Wiz would win.
Its 1stGEN…wait for 2nd or 3rdGEN. Th!nk is 1.5GEN. The EV1 was 1.5GEN even though it was so old.
G-Wiz is thee most popular selling electric car…ever! But it wont stay that way.
Wait 4 2nd GEN.

I need to cover …
I need to cover much more than that when I go on a road trip for vacation or business and much of the time I’ll be going 65 mph or faster. I need the performance and range of a real car, not these oversized toys.

Whatta unfair …
Whatta unfair competition. Several small cars with 50cc or little bigger engine are build with same size of G-Wiz and I am sure they have same economy.
Electric cars technology is same old as gasoline cars one and problems have not changed — still the main problem is ancient batteries.

Yea, why didn’t …
Yea, why didn’t they just use a Tesla Roadster to represent the electric car scene??? Hmm sounds fishy to me.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Because the Telsa …
Because the Telsa has 2 seats, and is a sports car. the G-Wiz has 4 seats, (2 microscopic rear seats) and is not a sports car.

SO the G-Wizz is …
SO the G-Wizz is not soo eco friendly after all.

LOL! yup probably.

I’d go for the …
I’d go for the Civic.

I understand that …
I understand that Reva is not a car that wins over everyone. if any manufacturer could try and create more affordable, economical and non polluting vehicles, it would be fantastic. Reva showed this possibility, something that the biggest car makers in the world did not. There are companies today that are working on advanced electric technologies. Hopefully, we’ll have more electric cars to choose from tomorrow. Till then,I think every effort in that direction needs encouragement.

So is a 50cc …
So is a 50cc scooter. What’s your point?
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
this is to me …
this is to me nothing more than another of the auto/oil industry’s attempt to savage electric cars. there seems to be an understanding that all EV’s are insanely ugly and terribly inefficient. combine this with the insane costs of viable ones, and we see why hobbyists build/convert much better EV’s
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
actually your right …
actually your right I will stop comparing it even to a commuter quadracycle, as I am sure a better quadracycle could be designed than that thing
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
People are talking …
People are talking about the G wiz as if its the future of cars.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
You get an …
You get an equivalent of 600 mpg on a Gwiz considering fuel costs vs. electric costs. That’s why.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Gwiz is a commuter …
Gwiz is a commuter quadracycle, not made to replace a car at all. Stop comparing it to one.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
top gear crashed …
top gear crashed one into a table at top speed and g-wiz was destroyed and table was cliped ……..
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
they forgot to do …
they forgot to do safety and crash tests. that’s a very important thing when you want to review cars.
anyway the g wiz would have been smashed to pieces at any speed above 40mph
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
I may be a silly …
I may be a silly goose, but fossil-fuel powered vehicles are still ancient history technologically. It is only the overwhelming greed of auto-manufacturers which keeps them on the road. High maintenance costs = much higher profits for the manufacturer, which can sell tons of replacement parts. Bad fuel economy = higher profits for big oil. The reason for the lack of electric vehicles is 100% greed.

The G-Wiz is so bad …
The G-Wiz is so bad its not even classed as a car in the uk. At the end of the vid he said “im going to pic up the others now” lol how big are they 2″tall
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
or you could get …
or you could get and kill yourself by crashing it to a table set up on its side look at the top gear video g-wiz vs table =P i would buy a table its faster and stronger =D and safer xD
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
the G-wiz is the …
the G-wiz is the most useless car watch the crash test a 30mph and the driver would die. i think that the g-wiz is useless. sorry!! but its true.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
replace them with …
replace them with LiFePO4 batteries then you would ge about 600-800km to the charge! LOL
you could probably go over 40mph too!!!
you could probably even go over a hump bridge. Carful not to bang your head!
the battery would probably cost more than the car though!! LOL!
August 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
100mph on NiMH, …
100mph on NiMH, high top speed about 130 I think. Th!nk is on LiFePo4 batteries and is 65mph top speed and 100 mph range. seriously who needs to drive 100miles in one day? If you do you deserve a congestion charge of 25 GBP
